Program Details
The Ethnic Studies for Educators Certificate of Specialization is designed to further equip emerging and established educators earning their Certificate of Achievement with specialized knowledge and pedagogical strategies from the field of Ethnic Studies or Child Development and Family Studies. This will prepare individuals to teach in Ethnic Studies or integrate the values and principles of this field into their professional practice. Students will engage with transformative approaches to teaching and learning that can be utilized and adapted for all age groups, with a particular focus on Ethnic Studies at all levels (PK-12) or early childhood programs, interventions, and training. This certificate prepares students for continued study to achieve an Associate�s Degree or transfer to a university. It also provides transferrable skills that can be used in a range of educational and professional settings, such as paraprofessionals, school staff, counselors, and more.
